As a result of the advising process, students will be able to...
- Develop an educational plan each term
- Use available tools to track academic progress at Snow College
- Demonstrate the ability to make effective decisions regarding major/career
- Explore transfer institution options that offer declared major
- Transfer to their chosen institution in a timely manner
- Understand how transfer plans impact their Snow College education plan
- Understand how to use BadgerWeb for course registration
- Be able to access important dates for adding, dropping, etc
- Contact their advisor for registration/planning/problems
- Seek out available campus resources to meet their needs
Student responsibilities
Students are expected to:
- Prepare for and keep advising appointments
- Be an active participant during advising appointments (ask questions, bring concerns,
etc.)
- Complete appointment action plan assigned by your advisor
- Research transfer programs and institutions
- Co-develop a Snow College education and transfer plan with their advisor
- Communicate with their advisor regularly
- Register for courses through BadgerWeb
- Check the email linked to your Snow College account regularly
Advisor REsponsibilities
Students can expect their advisor to:
- Be prepared for advising appointments
- Show concern about and monitor student progress
- Create a safe space for you to share your thoughts, plans, concerns and other information
- Connect students to campus resources
- Keep current with catalog and policy changes
- Assist with exploration and development of academic and career goals
- Assist with Snow College academic plan and transfer plans
- Maintain confidentiality and treat you with respect

Second Semester:
- Register for courses with BadgerWeb
- Choose major that aligns with goals
- Interpret Degree Works degree audit
Third Semester and Beyond:
- Explain purpose of GE
- Appreciate GE
- Explain how Snow College GE fits with major
- Research transfer options
- Articulate why advising is important
- Apply for graduation
- Choose transfer destination(s)
